چکیده

Numerous problems in electronic imaging systems involve the need to interpolate from irregularly spaced data. One example is the calibration of color input/output devices with respect to a common intermediate objective color space, such as XYZ or L*a*b*. In the present report we survey some of the most important methods of scattered data interpolation in two-dimensional and in three-dimensional spaces. We review both single-valued cases, where the underlying function has the form f:R2→R or f:R3→R, and multivalued cases, where the underlying function is f:R2→R2 or f:R3→R3. The main methods we review include linear triangular (or tetrahedral) interpolation, cubic triangular (Clough–Tocher) interpolation, triangle based blending interpolation, inverse distance weighted methods, radial basis function methods, and natural neighbor interpolation methods. We also review one method of scattered data fitting, as an illustration to the basic differences between scattered data interpolation and scattered data fitting. © 2002 SPIE and IS&T. Scattered data approximation of fully fuzzy data by quasi-interpolation

Fuzzy quasi-interpolations help to reduce the complexity of solving a linear system of equations compared with fuzzy interpolations. Almost all fuzzy quasi-interpolations are focused on the form of $widetilde{f}^{*}:mathbb{R}rightarrow F(mathbb{R})$ or $widetilde{f}^{*}:F(mathbb{R})rightarrow mathbb{R}$.  In this paper, we intend to offer a novel fuzzy radial basis function by the concept of so...

A Novel Triangle-based Method for Scattered Data Interpolation

Local numerical methods for scattered data interpolation often require a smart subdivision of the domain in geometrical polyhedral structures. In particular triangulations in the plane (2D) and tetrahedrizations in the space (3D) are widely used to define interpolation models. In this paper we give a short survey on the main methods for the scattered data problem and we recall preliminaries on ...

Optimizing design of 3D seismic acquisition by CRS trace interpolation

Land seismic data acquisition in most of cases suffers from obstacles in fields which deviates geometry of the real acquired data from what was designed. These obstacles will cause gaps, narrow azimuth and offset limitation in the data. These shortcomings, not only prevents regular trace distribution in bins, but also distorts the subsurface image by reducing illumination of the target formatio...

Deformed Cross - Dissolves for Image

Deformed cross-dissolves are methods for inconspicuous interpolation between images. We describe algorithms for deformation based on scattered data interpolation methods and an improved cross-dissolve algorithm ooering better performance than a normal bidirectional cross-dissolve. Results for interpolation in the eld of medical visualization are presented.
